Young Musician of the Year 2002

The finals were held at Yately Manor School in the presence of the Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire Mary Fagin in conjuction with the Rotary Club of Hart

Category winner - Rachel Ueckermann playing piano.

Sixteen year old Melanie Cotton has won the 2004 Hart Young Musician of the Year award.
Rachael Ueckermann, 11, won the Rotary Club of Hart Trophy for Merit and the Philip Jones Memorial Cup for Brass wasded to 15 year old James Davison.

The winner of Hart Young Musician of the Year was Elouise-Fleur Thom, from Fleet, with her performance on the violin. Elouise-Fleur also won The Rotary Club of Hart Trophy for Merit.

Rachel Mills won The Philip Jones Memorial Cup for Brass.

Over 100 entrants performed at the preliminary stage of the competition from three set age groups. Junior 8-11, Intermediate 12-15 and Senior 16-19.

25 were selected to go forward to the finals which were held at Yateley Manor School. Performances by brass, strings, piano and woodwind were performed to a very high standard.

The event was organised by Councillor Mrs. Susan Band (former Chairman) Hart District Council and the Hart Rotary Club. Anthony Cooke The High Sheriff of Hampshire presented the prizes to all the winners.
