FLEET BUSINESS PARTNERSHIP 2007 PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION
The 2007 photography competition held by the Fleet Business Partnership was a storming success. With over 150 entries competition was stiff for over £800 worth of prizes donated by Starbucks and Ready 2 Print in Fleet.
There
was a large number of images to choose from in all categories and there has
proved to be more than enough material to produce a great calendar for 2008.
The subject of the competition was What I love in and around Fleet and people really rose to the challenge. The pond and the canal made a number of appearances but then so did many other woodland areas that people know less about. There was clearly an abundance of stunning nature around us both where we may expect and in peoples back gardens. Fleet itself made quite an appearance with people clearly enjoying the Town in which they have chosen to live. There were many photos of people enjoying themselves in and around the Town from clearing weeds on Fleet pond to grabbing air on the skateboard park.
The overall winner Leo Janson also won his age category with a very different photograph from his winning one and clearly showed skills that set him apart. Jamie Ward also surprised the judges with two amazing prize winning images of a squirrel and a rolling car. One of the sweetest images was taken by Tierney Blakemore whose photo of her sister on a swing could only be taken with the perspective of a 3.5 year old child which made it a star. (Press photo of Tierney with her sister is available on the link)
The competition has given the businesses of Fleet a very clear idea as to how people view Fleet which is a great help when marketing a Town and developing a customer base.
We now look forward to next years competition and suggest people get snapping as the subject will be the Four Seasons of Fleet and Church Crookham.
