FLEET BRIDGE CLUB

Fleet Bridge Club is a small, friendly, relaxed club with about 25 members. It meets to play rubber bridge, with low stakes of 5p per 100, on Monday and Thursday afternoons from 1.30pm to 5.30pm. Venue is the St John Ambulance Hall, Clarence  Road, Fleet. There is free parking to the rear of the hall. Typically there are four tables in play. Two social events (lunch followed by cut-in bridge) are held each year. The subscription is £10 for a full year, and table money is £1 per afternoon(£1.50 for non-members).

Cut-in bridge is held on the second Monday of each month. On other days members pre-arrange to play  with  another member (or visitor) and they can agree to arrive late or leave early: there is no obligation to play for four hours. There are no members that play exclusively with one partner, though the rules of the club do not disallow it. Many members do however arrange to play with the same partner  once a  month (or in one or two cases more often), such as on the first Monday or third Thursday.

  If you would like to try the club out, you do need, on the first occasion, to speak first to a club  member,  for example to John on 01252614019, or Sheila on 01252850199. If your chosen first occasion is not a cut-in day, they will try to find you a partner if necessary though it is not always possible at short notice.  If you enjoy your early visits and wish to join, ask a member you have partnered to propose you.

Hart Bridge Club is a very “User Friendly” Club which has been going for nearly thirty years.

We are not members of the EBU and do not collect Master points, but we aim to enjoy ourselves.

We have an internal league table with annual prizes and a fun Christmas party.

ALL standards are welcome - we were all beginners once!

If you don’t have a regular partner, we may be able to find you one.

Subscriptions are around £1 a week for three hours enjoyment, so come and give us a try.
