Fleet Flower Club

When & Where: Meet on the 3rd Thursday of the month at the Memorial Hall, Sandy Lane, Church Crookham. Doors open 7.15pm for an 8.00pm start.

What: We have a varied agenda of flower demonstrations of both modern and traditional styles arranged by experts, as well as workshops where you can learn new ways to arrange flowers and foliage to help you create ideas for use at home.

At each meeting we have a Floristry Sales Table, and a Raffle of the demonstration flowers.

We hold monthly competitions and our Annual Show each year provides the opportunity for our members to show of their talents in flower arranging.

Looking back at 2017 & ahead in 2018:

2017 was another successful year for Fleet Flower Club. We started the year supporting the Women Institute’s and NAFAS Show the Love Campaign in February, and the NAFAS Lonely Bouquet in May and continued to share images through our website (www.fleetflowerclub.co.uk) and social media channels (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram @FleetFlowerClub).

We also offered different workshops to our members learning new techniques from creating willow baskets; arrangements without using floral foam, to how best to interpret class titles in competitions.

We were once again delighted to support Fleet Carnival at their Family Day in July offering the opportunity for people to create their own small flower arrangement.

In July we also held our Annual Show entitled “Spirit of Hampshire” capturing our diverse heritage and also giving a gentle nod to Jane Austen.

We ended the year supporting St Philips & St James’ Christmas Tree Festival in Fleet with our creation of a “Tutti Frutti” tree.

2018 will see us support Fleet Library with a demonstration titled “Flowers in Springtime” on 21 March, whilst our Annual Show will take place in October.

We also look forward to supporting once again some of the local events that will take place throughout 2018, as well as offering our members different workshops to explore new floristry skills.

We are always pleased to welcome new members, why not come along and see what you can do with flowers. Visitors - £6 on the door.
