Autumn and Winter Months
(September - February)
Tuesday and Thursday evenings are our Club training nights, 18.45 - 20.15 hrs

Groups of mixed abilities go jogging/running using various routes starting at our club headquarters.
These are the winter conditioning months for many of our Track and Field athletes who compete during the Spring and Summer season.
However, a considerable number of our members compete in Cross Country races during these winter months. Many also compete in a regular schedule of Road Races all year long and so train on various terrains throughout the year.
Individuals and teams from the Club regularly compete in such events as:-

Hampshire Cross Country League
(All age groups, M/F)

Border Cross Country League
(Under 17, M/F)

and in major events such as the Hampshire County, Southern Area, National and South of Thames Championships.
We also organise our own Open Cross Country events on Sundays in Oct, Nov, Dec, Jan & Feb.
We hold Circuit Training sessions on Tuesday evenings, 19.00 - 20.00, at the Calthorpe Park School Gym (next to the Hart Leisure Centre). These sessions are aimed at providing activity for our younger members during the winter and to help many of our runners develop strength and flexibility.

Come and meet us at...
our Headquarters at the Peter Driver Centre Sports Field in Church Crookham, Fleet, Hampshire.
(at the corner of Bourly Road, behind the "Twesledown" public house.)

Spring and Summer Months
(March - August)
Tuesday and Thursday evenings are still Club training nights, 18.45 - 20.15 hrs

Jogging and road running continues although this is our busy time of the year with many members preparing and competing in Track and Field competitions.
Two of our most prestigious events also take place in this period.
The Fleet Half Marathon which is held at the end of March generally attracts over 2000 runners from all over the country and is the last main event before the London Marathon.
The Fleet 10K road race, which we hold at the beginning of June, is a more local event incorporating the Peter Driver Memorial 10K.
Our Track and Field teams are very active during this period. Most of our athletes train at the Calthorpe School grass track (next to the Hart Leisure Centre). Athletes focus on their preferred events by practicing skills and techniques under the guidance of our BAF qualified coaches. This is all preparation for our regular team participation in such events as:-

Senior Southern Track and Field League

Southern Veterans Track and Field League (Men & Woman)

Lily "B" Track and Field League for U17 Girls

A number of our athletes compete at County and National levels and Marian Eldridge was the Ladies 5,000 meters European Veterans Champion in 1996.

In addition to the athletic events, we also organise social "get togethers", such as beer and skittles evenings, canal-side brunches and petanque evenings.
