FLEET's PLATINUM JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS 

Celebrations in Fleet from 2nd June to 5th June 2022

    

Thursday 2 June

The lighting of a beacon in Calthorpe Park, in line with the beacons being lit throughout the UK and across the Commonwealth. The beacon lighting will be accompanied by a short fireworks display, a Fun Fair and a children's lantern parade. Calthorpe Park will be open from 7pm to 10pm.

Friday 3 June

A Day of Sport, including Bike Rides, Fun Run, archery, football and much, much more, 
accompanied by a regatta and paddle-boarding on the Basingstoke Canal.

Cycle rides start in Calthorpe Park at 9am and 10am

Community Stalls, refreshments and entertainment from 12noon

From 12 noon: Boat Rally, Paddle Boarding, Canoe Display on Basingstoke Canal, BBQ by the Fox and Hounds.

From 7pm at the Key Centre, Elvetham Heath, a Royal British Legion Community Quiz.

Saturday 4 June

A Jubilee Parade and Premier & Vintage Car Procession through the town centre. The Parade 
will include our local scouts and guides, as well as many other local groups and organisations. 

Calthorpe Park 12noon - 6pm Community Stalls and Refreshments. at 2pm An address by the Deputy Lieutenant of Hampshire and National Anthem.

From 1pm Motoring Procession along Fleet Road to Calthorpe Park. This is followed by a massive Jubilee Parade with marching bands.

At the Harlington Centre at 7pm a Cabaret and Super with singer Colin Roy (tickets from Hart Lions 0345 833 7353.

Sunday 5 June

The four day programme will conclude with a morning Act of Worship in Gurkha Square, followed by a giant street party and entertainment along our high street, with street food stalls and live performances from a stage in Gurkha Square.

10am Fun Run (5K) starting from Calthorpe Park.

10am - 11am Inter-denominational Act of Worship in Gurkha Square.

12noon - 8pm Fleet Road - Big Jubilee Lunch Street Party with stalls, seating, street food and entertainment.

Live music from the stage in Gurkha Square (relayed along Fleet Road and to The Views) plus dancing and entertainment.

Picnic in The Views if you wish to bring your own food and chairs.


These four days will be a wonderful opportunity for us to come together to celebrate our recovery from the loneliness and isolation that has been part of the last two years and to acknowledge the 70 years of service of our Queen.

Fleet Orchestra Concert


The Fleet Orchestra are holding a Jubilee concert at 8pm on Wednesday 8th June with full English music including favorites such as Greensleeves, Pomp and Circumstance, The Beatles and Chanson de Matin. 

 

Free entry. Venue St Phillip and James Church, Kings Rd, Fleet. Yateley Choral Society will join in for the Jubilee Song, Everyone Welcome.


 

                                                                                Advice for Street Party's


Deadline: Unspecified but guidance is at least six weeks before the event

The advice for private street parties is that groups of residents arrange them together.

Hart District Council is also offering grants to established community groups or Parish and Town Councils to run events that bring the community together to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee
